Day 1 of the Revival Opens With a Full House
The 2026 Apostolic Invasion officially kicked off on Monday, 27th July, with the first of five straight nights of revival meetings scheduled to run daily at 5pm through Friday, 31st July. Hosted by Apostle Blessing Salami and Rev’d (Mrs) Grace Salami of Kingdom Harvest Gospel Ministry, the convention is holding at the Headquarters Auditorium in Oke-Maro, Amoyo, under the theme Overflowing and Day 1 already gave a strong sense of what the rest of the week has in store.
Long before the program began, the auditorium was filling up fast. This was never going to be a KHGM-only affair. Friends of the ministry, visitors from partner churches, family members of congregants, and residents from around Ilorin who had heard about the convention all made their way in, turning the opening night into something bigger than one church’s gathering. By the time the service started, every available chair was taken from the padded seats up front to the plastic chairs lining the back and sides of the hall.
A Room Full Before the Message Even Started
Members and visitors alike came in early, Bibles and notebooks in hand, and settled into whatever seats they could find. Ushers moved briskly, directing new arrivals to remaining space, and the mix in the room told its own story: children resting on their mothers’ shoulders, young people with notebooks open on their laps, older members seated with quiet dignity. Different ages, different backgrounds, different churches, all pulled into the same room for the same reason.
Attentive From the First Minute
A section of the congregation sat together in matching black attire, Bibles open and pens moving steadily as they followed along. It’s the kind of quiet, focused attentiveness that says more about a message than applause ever could people writing because they don’t want to lose what they’re hearing. Around them, others leaned in with their own notebooks, some flipping back through earlier pages, others simply nodding along as points landed.
A Packed Hall That Stayed Packed
Further back, under the open roofing of the auditorium, the crowd stretched wall to wall, with extra chairs pulled in wherever space allowed. A few people sipped water in the evening heat, others responded out loud to points that struck a chord, but nobody’s attention wandered far from the front. Men in casual wear sat beside men in traditional attire, women in vibrant prints sat next to women in simple dresses; the diversity of the room said a lot about who the message was reaching that night. It was a full room that stayed full, with very few people slipping out before the close.
When Worship Took Over the Room
At a certain point, the ministration gave way to worship, and the whole congregation rose to their feet together, hands lifted, voices raised, the entire room united in one response regardless of which church or family each person had walked in with. The lines between host and visitor disappeared. Everyone was reaching for the same heaven, moved by the same wave of worship sweeping through the hall. Even the media team, capturing the moment on camera for the ministry’s records, couldn’t stay entirely outside the flow of it, pausing more than once to join in before returning to their equipment.
Apostle Blessing Salami Delivers the Opening Word
Ministering under the Global Harvesters Mission Network banner, Apostle Blessing Salami opened the revival with a message delivered with clarity and force, holding the room’s attention from the first line to the last. His delivery moved between conviction and warmth, firm enough to challenge the room, gentle enough to draw people rather than push them away. It’s clear why the hall stayed full for as long as it did on a Monday evening; a message with that kind of weight doesn’t give people much reason to check out, whether they walked in as a member or as a first-time guest.
More Still to Come This Week
Day 1 was only the opening note of a week-long convention. The revival meetings continue nightly at 5pm through Friday, 31st July, before the program builds into a Festival of Praise on Saturday, 1st August at 12pm and closes with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, 2nd August at 10am. Guest speakers Evangelist Sunday Oguiche and Rev’d Bola Payimo are billed to minister later in the week, alongside a full lineup of music ministers set to lead worship across the remaining sessions.
By the time Monday’s service closed, it was evident this convention had already reached further than the walls of KHGM. New faces left with contact details exchanged, old friends reconnected after months apart, and more than a few visitors were overheard asking what time to return the next evening. That’s usually the clearest sign that an opening night has done exactly what it needed to do.
Day 1 down, four more revival nights to go — and if this is how Overflowing starts, the rest of the week has a lot to live up to.
