New to the Faith?

If you have recently given your life to Jesus Christ — whether at KHGM Mercy Seat Parish, at another church, or on your own — we want to celebrate with you. The Bible says that when one person turns to God, all of heaven rejoices (Luke 15:7). You have made the most important decision of your life.

What Just Happened?

You have been born again (John 3:3). By confessing that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you have received the gift of salvation. You are now a child of God — forgiven, loved, accepted, and welcomed into His family. The old has gone. The new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Your Next Steps as a New Believer

  • Talk to God every day through prayer. Prayer is simply a conversation with your heavenly Father. Tell Him how you feel, thank Him for what He has done, and ask Him for what you need. He hears you.
  • Read the Bible daily. God speaks to us through His Word. Start with the Gospel of John, then move to the book of Romans. As you read, ask the Holy Spirit to open your understanding.
  • Get baptised in water. Water baptism is a public declaration of your faith — a symbolic death to your old life and resurrection into new life in Christ. Speak to our pastor about baptism at your earliest opportunity.
  • Join a local church. We would be honoured to be your church home. Come every Sunday at 9:00 AM. A church family will love you, support you, and help you grow in ways you cannot grow alone.
  • Tell someone. Share your story of how you came to Christ. Your testimony is powerful and can open doors for others to believe.

New Believers Class

We run a New Believers Class specifically designed to help people who are new to the faith understand the foundations of Christian living. Topics include prayer, Bible reading, baptism, the Holy Spirit, fellowship, and how to live as a disciple of Jesus in everyday life.

To join the New Believers Class, simply speak to any of our ushers or the welcome team on a Sunday morning and we will connect you with the right person immediately.
